The department’s work spans housing and homelessness services, social and affordable housing growth, public works, procurement, youth engagement, the night-life economy and industry regulation. Its vision is a brighter future for Queenslanders through housing, building and service innovation, with a focus on delivering a place to call home for more Queenslanders, creating a more prosperous Queensland and strengthening the construction sector.
Corporate Services provides the strategic enabling functions that support the department’s frontline and business operations, including finance, procurement, human resources, communications, legal services, digital and technology services, governance, risk, planning and performance.
Within Corporate Services, Digital and Technology Services provides the technology, digital and information capabilities that enable the department and its customer agencies to deliver services to Queenslanders. The branch provides enterprise leadership across ICT, information management, digital, cyber security, data governance, digital risk, technology resilience and emerging technologies.
The branch currently supports more than 4,500 staff, 166 sites across Queensland and more than 7,100 digital applications, while progressing major programs focused on service modernisation, digital transformation, cyber security and resilience, data and emerging technology, connected services, and technology governance and investment.

About the opportunity
The Chief Information and Digital Officer is a senior executive leadership role responsible for shaping the department’s technology, digital and information capabilities and ensuring they support its strategic priorities and broader Queensland Government requirements.
Reporting to the Deputy Director-General, Corporate Services, the Chief Information and Digital Officer will lead the development and implementation of the department’s ICT, information management and digital strategies. The role provides enterprise leadership across ICT, digital, cyber security, information management, data governance and emerging technologies, with eight direct reports.
The role will play a critical part in strengthening the department’s digital capability and ensuring technology enables better business and service outcomes. This includes leading digital transformation, cyber resilience, information security, technology governance, enterprise architecture and major ICT investment, while ensuring services are secure, reliable, accessible and responsive to customer needs.
A key focus will be translating technology strategy into practical outcomes. The Chief Information and Digital Officer will lead major ICT and digital projects, influence investment prioritisation and benefits realisation, strengthen supplier and commercial performance, and build strong relationships across the department, customer agencies, strategic suppliers and whole-of-government forums.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Proven executive leadership experience across complex ICT, digital, cyber security, data and information management environments.
- Strategic leadership capability, with a demonstrated ability to lead change and innovation and translate technology strategy into practical service improvements and measurable business outcomes.
- Strong business acumen, including experience across ICT investment, enterprise architecture, governance, contract management, project and program management and resource management.
- The ability to provide strategic advice across digital transformation, cyber resilience, supplier performance and whole-of-government technology obligations.
- Highly developed relationship management, communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to build productive relationships, manage competing priorities and achieve positive outcomes.
- A strong record of building workforce capability and fostering agile, resilient, collaborative and customer-focused cultures across multidisciplinary teams.
- Outstanding judgement, high-level integrity and the agility to lead effectively in a constantly changing and complex environment.
