The Department of Environment and Science (DES) works with government, stakeholders and communities to achieve a better environmental, economic and social future for Queensland.
Science Strategy and Partnerships provides strategic leadership for the State’s investment in science, and advocates Queensland research and commercialisation for the economic, environmental and community benefit of Queenslanders.
Science Strategy and Partnership’s work program is focused on enabling the State’s universities and research institutes to address health and environmental challenges, seize economic opportunities in growing markets and create jobs for the future. This includes prioritising, developing and evaluating science-related policies, as well as planning for future science investment and monitoring existing investment and its impacts.
The Department of Environment and Science (DES) recognises the enormous value a clean environment, innovative society and economy, and vibrant culture makes to Queenslanders’ lives. As a diverse organisation, the department brings together environment, heritage protection, national parks, science and arts functions to help achieve government objectives for a better Queensland.
