We are seeking an experienced Senior Advisor (Governance) to support a major Queensland infrastructure program that will deliver significant improvements to the state’s transport network.

Your new role
In this role, you will join a high-performing project controls and governance team, ensuring strong oversight, compliance, and reporting practices across a complex, multi-stakeholder project environment.
   
Your role will include:
  • Coordinating governance and steering committee meetings, including preparation of agendas, papers, minutes, and action registers
  • Managing project risk, issue and decision registers to ensure timely escalation and resolution
  • Preparing high-quality executive reports, briefing notes, and governance documentation
  • Maintaining document control and records management systems (e.g., TRIM/Content Manager, Objective, SharePoint)
  • Supporting procurement, recruitment, and other project administration processes
  • Liaising with senior stakeholders across internal teams and interfacing with projects to ensure governance alignment
  • Providing governance advice and contributing to the continuous improvement of governance frameworks and tools
   
What you’ll need to succeed
  • Proven experience in project governance, PMO coordination, or secretariat roles, ideally within Queensland Government or large-scale infrastructure projects
  • Exceptional written communication and attention to detail, with the ability to produce accurate reports and records
  • Strong organisational and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
  • Demonstrated understanding of governance frameworks, decision-making processes, and public sector compliance requirements
  • Proficiency with records and document management systems such as TRIM/CM, Objective or SharePoint
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, project management, or a related discipline will be highly regarded
  • Ability to complete a Criminal History Check before commencement
Previous experience in a similar role within Queensland Government or Public Sector would be beneficial, but not essential.

What’s in it for you
  • Hourly rate of $77.02 + Superannuation
  • 40 hours per week roster (Monday - Friday)
  • Initial 6-month contract with possible extension
  • Weekly pay cycle
