Biosecurity Queensland is looking for Senior Support Officers to join their Regional Biosecurity teams. Flexible locations access North Queensland, Central Queensland and South Queensland (excluding Brisbane and the Gold Coast).

Working with a small team, you’ll play a key role in supporting your region’s efforts to prevent, respond to and recover from pests and diseases which threaten agricultural, environment and human health.
In this newly created role, you will: provide executive and administrative support to the Regional Biosecurity Lead; liaise with key stakeholders; draft clear concise high-quality documents, plans and proposals as well as supporting a range of program initiatives
About the role
As our Regional Biosecurity Senior Support Officer (North), you will:
- Provide confidential executive and administrative support to the Regional Biosecurity Lead (North) and undertake program duties as required.
- Represent Biosecurity Queensland working in collaboration with stakeholders internal and external to support biosecurity initiatives.
- Oversee document quality and document management standards including effective filing systems.
- Support the development of program initiatives plans and proposals, to improve the quality of program outcomes.
- Draft clear, concise, high-quality documents designed to support clear and consistent communication in ways appropriate to each reading audience.
- Support a positive culture within the program utilising strong interpersonal communication to enable delivery of effective and timely administrative and program initiatives.
As the position may involve participation in emergency responses, the successful candidate may be required to undergo training to apply their everyday work capabilities within a disaster or biosecurity response environment.
