About the Role:

Are you ready to lead end-to-end procurement initiatives that drive real impact in a fantastic State Government Department?

We are seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Officer to join our client on a contract basis an initial 4 months with possible extension, $76.50 per hour + super.

In this role, you will manage tactical procurement activities on behalf of the Department, while delivering consistent responsive and high-quality advice to a network of procurement officers and Departmental business groups

In this role, you will:
  • Contribute and influence the department’s tactical procurement function through strategic analysis and procurement planning in relation to medium - high value and risk projects
  • Manage the provision of expert advice across a range of procurement related areas including procurement strategies, contract development and management, offer evaluation and consultants/contractors.
  • Deliver high-quality procurement and contract management services, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, policies, and best practices.
  • Manage end-to-end procurement activities — from planning and tender administration to supplier negotiation, contract award, and ongoing contract management.
  • Provide timely, strategic advice to internal stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Foster strong partnerships across public sector bodies, industry groups, and vendors.
  • Conduct performance monitoring, prepare reports and briefings, and contribute to system improvements.

What you'll bring:
  • Previous procurement experience in a Government setting will be highly regarded (local, state or federal). 
  • Strong knowledge of the QPP and industry best practices
  • Proven expertise in managing complex procurement projects.
  • Strong knowledge of government procurement policies and practices.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
