In this position, you will place play a crucial role in supporting the successful transition from a customised SAP ECC6 to standardised S/4HANA Public Cloud solution by working collaboratively within the Finance Modernisation Project team.
  
Reporting to the Project Manager, you will analyse current finance processes, identify gaps and opportunities, support data migration activities, facilitating communication between stakeholders, ensuring alignment with project objectives, and providing insights to optimise processes and solutions throughout the project lifecycle
  
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
  • Working with stakeholders to evaluate, document, and clearly articulate the business processes impacted by the S/4HANA upgrade.
  • Analyse the current (As-Is) processes in ECC6 and contribute to the design of future state (To-Be) standard processes in S/4HANA Public Cloud including identifying the finance change impacts, process risks and the control environment.
  • Evaluate the end-to-end interfaces in ECC6 and contribute to the design and integration of future state interfaces in S/4HANA Public Cloud, ensuring a thorough assessment of change impacts, interface dependencies, and potential risks to system connectivity and data flow/reporting.
  • Participate in solution design workshops and walkthroughs, ensuring finance business needs are clearly understood and incorporated.
  • Complete configuration reviews, business process re-engineering, and finance data mapping using tools such as Visio, Excel.
  • Support data migration planning, cleansing, validation, and reconciliation in collaboration with finance and ICT teams.
  • Support test planning, user acceptance testing (UAT) and finance defect management and ensure the new S/4HANA system is fully tested and fit-for-purpose.
  • Contribute to training material development and create detailed business process documents and artefacts using available tools, working closely with the Change Manager to define and articulate change impacts.
  • Maintain clear and auditable documentation in line with Queensland Government project governance standards.

About You
We are looking for the person best suited to the role considering the skills, experience, qualifications, knowledge and personal qualities that you would bring to the role.
  
To thrive in this role, you will need to demonstrate the following:
  • Strong skills in business analysis to ensure all project deliverables, milestones, and reporting requirements are met within agreed timeframes and budgets
  • Strong experience analysing and documenting AS-IS and TO-BE business processes
  • Strong knowledge of finance processes and controls
  • Demonstrated experience in end-to-end business process mapping and transformation with major ERP systems
  • Ability to align activities such as data mapping, configuration reviews, and process re-engineering, considering both internal and external stakeholder needs.
  • Ability to clearly communicate to stakeholders the purpose, significance, impact and benefits of the standardised nature of S/4 HANA
  • Ability to show initiative, proactively managing risks, issues, and dependencies
  • Ability to present findings and recommendations in a clear, concise, and articulate manner.
  • Ability to build and sustain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including finance and ICT teams.
Highly desirable
  • Significant work experience with large scale, complex IT projects and/or SAP implementations across SAP S/4 HANA, SAP ECC 6.0, SAP FICO, Concur, or Ariba
  • Experience in finance management and finance services delivery
  • Business Analyst certifications such as CBAP
  • Project delivery experience using PRINCE2, Agile and/or other project management methodologies
Previous experience in a similar role with Queensland Government (or similar public sector entity) would be very highly regarded
   
What this role offers
  • Immediate start
  • Contract to May 2027
  • $830 per Day + 12% Superannuation (PAYG)
  • 8 hours per day/40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
  • Brisbane CBD office with hybrid flexible work arrangements
  • Weekly pay cycles with no payroll fees/deductions
  • Ability to contract as Pty Ltd Contractor (criteria applies)
  • Support from specialised public sector recruitment consultants for the duration of your assignment
