The Department of Transport and Main Roads, North Coast Region are seeking to appoint a Communications Advisor (AO5) to their Buderim office on the beautiful Sunshine Coast.

About your new role
This role will see you:
  • Provide communications advice related to transport infrastructure projects incorporating communication strategy and risk assessment, stakeholder and community engagement, and media and issues management
  • Develop and maintain ongoing key strategic relationships and networks with other government agencies, project partners, contractors, community and interest groups and internal and external clients.
  • Plan, develop, implement and manage key communication activities and events
  • Ensure appropriate governance frameworks are maintained and adhered to.
What you will need to succeed
  • Previous experience in a Communications, Stakeholder Engagement, Community Engagement, or Public Relations role
  • Demonstrated capability in strategic communications, community engagement, executive correspondence, public relations and media.
  • Proficiency in building and sustaining relationships to enable the collaborative delivery of customer-focused outcomes.
  • Aptitude for adjusting to evolving environments and changing expectations
  • Ability to successfully pass a Criminal History Check prior to appointment
A tertiary qualification in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism or Marketing or a related field is highly desirable, along with IAP2 Certification in Engagement.
   
Similar experience working in the major infrastructure, transport/rail, or civil engineering space would be very highly regarded.

What the role offers
  • Initial 3-year initial contract until August 2029, with potential extensions to 2031
  • $69.21 – $75.09 per Hour + Superannuation (AO5 band)
  • Buderim office location, with flexible work arrangements. Some work may be required from new Birtinya office on adhoc basis.
  • 38 hours per Week, Monday to Friday
  • Weekly pay cycles with no payroll fees
  • Local Sunshine Coast based Kingston Human Capital consultants to support you in your assignment
