As a Customer Service Officer, you will be the first point of contact for customers across multiple channels – in person, over the phone and via electronic media. You will:
- Provide professional, efficient and friendly service to both external and internal customers
- Handle enquiries, requests and payments with accuracy and care
- Support a variety of departments, acting as the face of the organisation
- Contribute to process improvements and ensure customer needs are met at the first point of contact
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has demonstrated experience in a busy customer service environment, ideally in a call centre or front counter setting
- Thrives under pressure and can make sound decisions within scope
- Communicates clearly and confidently, even in challenging situations
- Is proficient with computer systems and quick to learn new software
- Enjoys working as part of a team and has a continuous improvement mindset
- Certificate III or IV in Customer Contact (or equivalent)
- Previous experience in local government or large organisations
- This is a temporary position until Sept 2025 with potential for extension
