About the Role
As a Customer Service Officer, you will be the first point of contact for customers across multiple channels – in person, over the phone and via electronic media. You will:
  • Provide professional, efficient and friendly service to both external and internal customers
  • Handle enquiries, requests and payments with accuracy and care
  • Support a variety of departments, acting as the face of the organisation
  • Contribute to process improvements and ensure customer needs are met at the first point of contact
About You
We’re looking for someone who:
  • Has demonstrated experience in a busy customer service environment, ideally in a call centre or front counter setting
  • Thrives under pressure and can make sound decisions within scope
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, even in challenging situations
  • Is proficient with computer systems and quick to learn new software
  • Enjoys working as part of a team and has a continuous improvement mindset
Highly Regarded but not Essential
  • Certificate III or IV in Customer Contact (or equivalent)
  • Previous experience in local government or large organisations
Other Details:
  • This is a temporary position until Sept 2025 with potential for extension
