Kingston Human Capital are supporting the Department of Transport and Main Roads to appoint a Delivery Lead to oversee and coordinate the successful delivery of the Essential Eight Uplift Initiative as part of the department’s wider Cyber Security Uplift Program.
   
What you will be doing
You will provide end-to-end leadership across multiple technical and business work packages to support implementation of the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) Essential Eight framework and achievement of targeted maturity uplift outcomes.
  
Working across technology, cyber security, operational and business stakeholders, you will be responsible for coordinating delivery activities, managing dependencies, ensuring alignment to agreed maturity targets, and maintaining oversight of risks, issues, governance and benefits realisation.
  
The role requires strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and delivery management capabilities, together with the ability to navigate complex enterprise environments and translate strategic cyber security objectives into practical and achievable implementation outcomes.
  
Core responsibilities and activities include:
  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of the Essential Eight Uplift Initiative, ensuring alignment to approved scope, schedule, budget and quality objectives.
  • Coordinate and oversee multiple work packages across the Essential Eight strategies, ensuring delivery activities are sequenced, integrated and aligned to enterprise priorities.
  • Establish and maintain delivery plans, schedules, milestones and dependencies to support achievement of targeted Essential Eight maturity levels.
  • Provide leadership and direction to multidisciplinary project resources, fostering collaboration and accountability across technical, cyber security and business teams.
  • Coordinate maturity assessments, gap analysis and implementation planning activities to support prioritisation of uplift initiatives and tracking of maturity improvement over time.
  • Ensure alignment between Essential Eight delivery activities and wider cyber security program initiatives.
  • Identify, monitor and manage project risks, issues, dependencies and decisions
  • Establish and maintain effective project governance and assurance activities
  • Develop and maintain executive-level reporting, dashboards, briefing materials and governance artefacts
  • Support development and implementation of communication, stakeholder engagement, organisational change management and benefits realisation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant Queensland Government, department and cyber security policy, regulatory and assurance requirements.
  • Build and maintain productive working relationships with senior stakeholders, project sponsors, business owners and delivery partners.
  • Contribute to the ongoing evolution of the cyber security program delivery model and cyber security uplift roadmap.
About you
  • Experience leading the delivery of complex ICT, Cyber Security or enterprise transformation initiatives.
  • Proven experience coordinating multiple work streams, stakeholders and dependencies within large and complex organisations
  • Experience managing project governance, risks, issues, financials, schedules and reporting within formal delivery frameworks
  • Ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders, executives and technical specialists.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and driving delivery outcomes in complex environments.
  • Strong understanding of cyber security governance, risk management and control implementation practices.
Highly desirable skills
  • Experience delivering cyber security uplift programs aligned to the ASD Essential Eight, NIST CSF, ISO 27001 or similar frameworks.
  • Experience conducting capability maturity assessments, roadmap development and uplift planning activities.
  • Experience working within Queensland Government or other large public sector environments.
  • Experience with Agile and hybrid delivery methodologies.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project, Jira or similar delivery management tools.
What this role offers you
  • $110 - $130 per Hour, plus Superannuation (negotiable with experience)
  • Immediate start
  • 12-month initial assignment, with likely of extension
  • Hybrid work arrangements – 50% office, 50% WFH.
  • Predominately Carseldine based, with ability to also work from Brisbane CBD offices.
  • 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
