We are currently seeking experienced and detail-oriented Finance Officers (AO4) to join a Queensland Government team based on the Sunshine Coast.
Working within a collaborative finance environment, you will support the delivery of key financial and administrative functions, ensuring transactions, reporting activities, and financial processes are completed accurately and in accordance with established policies and procedures.
You will work closely with a range of internal stakeholders, providing financial support, maintaining data integrity, and contributing to the effective operation of the team.
This is an excellent opportunity for finance professionals seeking a long-term contract within the public sector. Candidates with previous Queensland Government, State Government, or broader public sector experience are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities
- Process financial transactions, journals, and related documentation
- Perform reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure data accuracy
- Support budget monitoring, cost tracking, and financial reporting activities
- Review financial requests and ensure compliance with policies and procedures
- Provide financial support and guidance to internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate financial records, registers, and supporting documentation
- Assist with governance, audit, and quality assurance activities
- Contribute to process improvements and support team objectives
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience in a Finance Officer, Accounts Officer, or similar finance support role
- Experience with reconciliations, journals, financial transactions, and reporting activities
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment
- Well-developed communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial management systems
- Experience using SAP or similar ERP systems will be highly regarded
- Previous Queensland Government, State Government, or public sector experience will be highly regarded
- 2-year contract with potential extension
- $60.06 per hour + superannuation
