We are looking to appoint a Human Resource Officer (AO4 level) to play a critical role in delivering high-quality, timely operational HR support and advice to Directors, Managers, and staff across the Sunshine Coast and Moreton Bay region.

A key focus of the role is managing recruitment activities, including participating as a panel member to recruit and select for significant infrastructure projects.

Your new role
  • Independently undertake operational recruitment activities, applying your knowledge of recruitment and selection policies to deliver successful outcomes.
  • Work closely with selection panels, providing confident and informed advice to guide decision-making, ensure compliance with policies and procedures, and uphold fair and transparent processes.
  • Provide expert advice on workforce management, role descriptions, and compliance with relevant legislation and directives.
  • Maintaining accurate HR systems and documentation, such as SAP HR, organisational charts, and FTE reporting
  • Proactively identify opportunities to enhance HR business processes.
To succeed in this role
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, and HR policies
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage conflict and balance stakeholder needs effectively.
  • Able to prepare and manage HR forms and documentation with precision
  • Able to build and maintain strong professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Resilient, adaptable and able to prioritise tasks in a dynamic environment
  • Ability to pass a Criminal History Check
  • Valid working rights for Queensland, Australia
Previous experience in a similar role within Queensland Government or Public Sector would be highly preferred.
  
What's in it for you
  • 12-month initial contract, with potential 2 x 12-month extensions
  • Hourly rate of $58.02 – $63.69 + Super
  • 38 hours per week, Monday to Friday only
  • Immediate start, pending Criminal History Check and notice periods
