We are seeking an experienced Principal Engineer - Civil (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland) to join our Infrastructure Delivery team, managing key components of road infrastructure programs while providing specialist technical expertise to ensure successful project delivery within time, quality, cost, and stakeholder expectations.
Key Responsibilities
Project Management & Delivery
- Manage delivery of preliminary and detailed design phases for regional infrastructure projects
- Oversee construction phase project delivery, including contract management and onsite supervision
- Coordinate maintenance, rehabilitation, and safety improvement projects
- Act as "Representative of the Principal" for contract delivery across various project phases
- Provide high-level engineering advice on planning, design suitability, materials selection, and construction practices
- Ensure all quality and environmental project aspects are identified and addressed
- Maintain and apply relevant standards, policies, guidelines, and legislative requirements
- Supervise engineering resources and technical staff, providing mentorship and technical guidance
- Manage tender calling, assessment, and contract awarding processes for construction projects
- Develop contract documentation and procure design/construction services
- Act as Project Manager and/or Contract Administrator ensuring quality and value for money
- Identify and manage stakeholder networks and alliances
- Handle public enquiries requiring technical input through appropriate channels
- Manage expectations and address political and high-risk matters professionally
- Coordinate with operations teams to ensure efficient network operations
Qualifications & Certifications:
- Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland (RPEQ) - MANDATORY
- Four-year Washington Accord accredited Bachelor of Engineering (or equivalent assessed by Engineers Australia)
- Current Class C driver's license
- Construction Industry Induction (White Card) Own suitable Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
