:About the Opportunity

Our government client is seeking an experienced A07   Principal Governance Officer to support and lead financial governance initiatives that strengthen policy, compliance, and assurance across the department. This high-impact role works closely with senior leadership and is key in developing robust financial management practices.

How you can contribute as the  A07   Principal Governance Officer:
  • Develop and manage financial governance and control frameworks
  • Deliver the CFO Assurance Framework, Reports, and quarterly updates
  • Design, implement and review internal controls and process improvements
  • Improve financial delegations after a Machinery of Government (MoG) change
  • Maintain the Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM)
  • Monitor and apply Whole-of-Government financial policy updates
  • Provide specialist financial advice and support to business groups
Skills & Experience Required
  • Strong experience in financial governance and public sector policy
  • Ability to interpret legislation and apply to policy and assurance processes
  • High-level problem solving, analytical and critical thinking capability
  • Proactive approach to stakeholder engagement and client service
  • Strong leadership, organisational, and project management skills
  • Experience with internal controls, assurance reporting, and delegations management
  • Demonstrated ability to implement improvements and drive change!
