The Flood Resilience Program is a Queensland Government initiative that aims to create stronger, safer and more flood resilient schools. The Flood Resilience Team (ISD) oversees and implements the Flood Resilience Program, informing overarching infrastructure planning and design processes, improving the management of flood risk and reducing flood impacts.

We are seeking a Principal Project Coordinator to lead and oversee the planning phase of schools within the Flood Resilience Program.

This will include facilitating the three (3) core deliverables:
  • Preparing and delivering multi-option analyses and detailed business cases for projects within the Flood Resilience Program
  • Obtaining all relevant regulatory approvals for the project/s, including Ministerial Infrastructure Designations, development applications, or any other approval process required; and
  • Preparing budget documentation and necessary funding for the projects.
Throughout the planning phase of the project, you will lead both internal and external discussions, oversee the implementation of the project program and be the central point of contact for the projects.

Additional responsibilities include:
  • Coordinate teams of external consultants for delivery of the work within condensed timeframes
  • Assist with procurement activities for the engagement of external consultants
  • Provide project specific advice to management and the executive
  • Participate in the Flood Resilience Program team meetings, contributing to the development and application of policies and procedures that support the strategic direction
  • Build and maintain high levels of communication and collaborative partnerships with internal units, external agencies and school stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain project programs documentation
  • Undertake project risk assessments ensuring both project and corporate risks are captured and mitigated  
What you will need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Demonstrated experience on government infrastructure projects
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams
  • Experience working across multiple projects or programs concurrently
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
  • Valid working rights for Queensland, Australia 
What’s in it for you
This opportunity offers you an initial 12-month contract (with potential extension) and a rate of $113.00 per Hour + Superannuation. You will be based in Brisbane CBD, close to public transport, and will work a 40-hour week Monday to Friday.
