Our client is a large Queensland Government department, centrally located in Brisbane CBD.
Following the implementation of a new Grants Management system, we are looking to appoint a Grants Reporting and Insight Officer (AO6 level) for an initial contract to 1 May 2026.
Your new role
In this role, you will play a key role in supporting the implementation of dashboards and reporting capabilities within a new Grants Management system.
Levering your data analytics experience, you will enable the organisation to better understand and communicate funding allocations, participation volumes, geographic distribution, and budget performance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with stakeholders to define reporting requirements
- Design and implement dashboards and reports using the native tool within the new system.
- Extract, transform, and analyse data using Excel (advanced functions, pivot tables, formulas) and basic SQL queries.
- Translate complex grants and business data into meaningful insights to support decision-making
- Ensure data integrity and consistency across reporting outputs
- Support system rollout by testing reporting features and providing user feedback as well as contributing to data migration when needed.
To succeed in this role, you will need to demonstrate:
- Previous experience in a Data Analyst, Reporting Analyst or similar position
- Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Exposure to SQL and data visualisation tools (Power BI, Tableau or similar)
- Ability to interpret and communicate data related to funding, location, participation volumes, and budgets
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and stakeholder engagement capabilities
- Ability to pass a Criminal History Check prior to commencement
- Valid working rights for Queensland, Australia
