Your New Role
As the Senior Management Accountant, you’ll provide high-quality financial management advice, reporting and analysis to support informed decision-making and strong financial governance across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver customer-focused financial management advice, reporting and analysis.
- Monitor financial performance against budgets and identify financial risks and mitigation strategies.
- Prepare monthly and ad hoc financial reports, reconciliations, forecasts and briefing materials.
- Support annual budget development and budget revision processes.
- Assist with preparation of State Budget documentation, including Service Delivery Statements, Estimates briefs and Annual Report inputs.
- Ensure budget data is accurately reflected and reconciled within financial systems.
- Contribute to the review and improvement of financial management policies, systems and procedures.
- Build strong relationships with stakeholders including senior management and central agencies.
- Participate in finance projects and provide analytical support across the business.
- Strong experience in management accounting within a large or complex organisations.
- Proven capability across budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and meet tight deadlines.
- Experience working within government financial frameworks is highly regarded.
- Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business.
- CPA, CA or IPA membership.
- Experience supporting State Budget and Estimates processes.
- Initial contract opportunity until February 2026 with potential extension
- Availabiltiy to start in mid August
- 36.25 hours work week
- Work arrangement: 100% in office
