Kingston Human Capital are partnering with a Queensland Government organisation to appoint an experienced Senior Management Accountant (AO6) for an initial six-month contract, with potential for extension.

This is an excellent opportunity to step into a broad management accounting role, with exposure across budgeting, financial performance, reporting and stakeholder advisory.

YOUR NEW ROLE
You’ll play a key role in supporting the organisation’s budget development and financial performance, providing timely reporting, analysis and practical financial advice to support informed decision-making.

Beyond day-to-day management accounting, you’ll contribute to departmental budget papers, financial system maintenance, general ledger integrity and continuous improvement initiatives across financial policies, processes and controls.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support budget development and monitor ongoing financial performance across the organisation.
  • Prepare and analyse financial performance reports within required deadlines.
  • Contribute to departmental budget papers, including Service Delivery Statement inputs.
  • Maintain financial data and support general ledger integrity.
  • Provide practical financial management advice to internal stakeholders.
  • Interpret and apply relevant financial standards, policies and legislation.
  • Liaise with stakeholders and auditors to support financial reporting and business requirements.
  • Contribute to improvements across financial management policies, procedures and processes.
  • Support the wider Finance team to deliver key priorities in a busy, deadline-driven environment.
HIGHLY DESIRABLE   
  • Experience with SAP ECC6 or SAP 4HANA
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Experience with Power BI or other business intelligence tools.
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Accounting, Finance, Commerce or Business, and/or CPA or CA professional membership.
WHAT’S IN IT FOR YOU
  • Initial 6-month contract and potential extension | ASAP start
  • $79.17–$84.55 per hour + super (neg.)
  • Up to 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
  • Brisbane CBD location.
  • Hybrid working available after an initial office-based period, with up to two days WFH negotiable
  • Flexible start and finish times
