Are you an experienced procurement professional looking to take on a senior role where your expertise will drive strategic outcomes and value for money? We are seeking a Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer (AO6) to lead complex sourcing and contracting activities across a diverse range of categories.

About the Role

As a Senior Procurement and Contracts Officer, you will take the lead on end-to-end procurement activities, including strategic sourcing, evaluation, contract development, and supplier management. You’ll partner with stakeholders to ensure procurement outcomes are commercially sound, compliant, and aligned with the Queensland Procurement Policy and relevant legislative frameworks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across a variety of spend categories including specialist equipment, general goods and services (GGS) and building construction and maintenance (BCM).
  • Manage the full procurement lifecycle - from planning, specification development, and tendering through to evaluation, negotiation, and contract management.
  • Draft and negotiate contracts, Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs) in line with Queensland Government standards.
  • Apply relevant Australian Standard Contract Conditions and Queensland Government templates to support procurement for minor, medium, and capital works.
  • Identify opportunities to improve procurement efficiency, enhance supplier value, and deliver sustainable outcomes.
  • Contribute to initiatives supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander participation, equity, and economic inclusion in procurement.
About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll have:
  • Demonstrated experience managing complex procurement and contracting activities within a government or large corporate environment.
  • Strong knowledge of Queensland Procurement Policy and other frameworks.
  • Proven ability to lead end-to-end procurement processes across varied and high-value categories.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, negotiation, and influencing skills.
  • High attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to deliver practical, compliant solutions in a dynamic environment.
  • Commitment to ethical conduct, continuous improvement, and workforce wellbeing.
