We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join the Service Planning team to lead and oversee the planning phase of new schools’ projects, with three (3) core deliverables, including:
- Preparing a preliminary evaluation and/or a detailed business case for new schools
- Obtain all relevant planning approvals for the new schools, including Ministerial Infrastructure Designations, development applications, or any other approval process required
- Preparing budget submissions for funding the new schools.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Coordinate teams of external consultants for efficient development of the work
- Manage the external consultants’ contracts and ensure that the development of the deliverables is in line with the scope of services and other procurement documents
- Assist with procurement activities for the engagement of external consultants
- Liaise as necessary with internal and external stakeholder groups and agencies
- Provide project specific advice to management and the executive
- Work collaboratively with other staff members and external consultants
- Build and maintain high levels of communication and collaborative partnerships with internal units and external agencies
- Develop and maintain project programs to a high standard
- Undertake project risk assessments ensuring both project and corporate risks are captured, mitigated, and reported to management and the executive
- Prepare projects’ monthly reports, briefing notes and other governance-related documents
- Facilitate meetings with internal and external stakeholders, and present project status updates to internal governance committees and external agencies.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
- Significant experience in infrastructure or property development project management
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary project teams
- Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision
- Valid working rights for Queensland, Australia
What’s in it for you
This opportunity offers you an initial 12-month contract (with potential extension) and a rate of $115.00 per Hour + Superannuation. You will be based in Brisbane CBD, close to public transport, and will work a 40-hour week Monday to Friday.
