About the role
As the Business Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for facilitating the development of business requirements, functional and non-functional specifications, and supporting a range of business analysis activities across project delivery.
You will engage with stakeholders to understand business pain points, document current and future state processes, and ensure business requirements are clearly defined and aligned to project objectives. This role will suit a strong communicator who enjoys stakeholder engagement, process analysis, and delivering fit-for-purpose solutions in complex ICT environments.
Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitate business analysis planning and monitoring activities
- Conduct stakeholder analysis and support engagement across business and technical teams
- Gather, analyse and document business and functional requirements
- Conduct business rules elicitation and validate outcomes with stakeholders
- Document As-Is and To-Be business processes
- Analyse business pain points and recommend process improvements
- Develop functional and non-functional requirement specifications
- Support requirements management, prioritisation and traceability activities
- Work closely with external vendors and implementation partners to ensure business needs are met
- Support the development of interface and configuration specifications
- Collaborate with Project Managers, Business Application Owners and IT teams throughout project delivery
- Demonstrated experience as a Business Systems Analyst within complex ICT or transformation environments
- Strong experience gathering and documenting business and functional requirements
- Experience facilitating workshops and engaging with a broad range of stakeholders
- Strong process mapping and business process analysis capability, including As-Is and To-Be documentation
- Experience managing requirements traceability and business analysis documentation
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and problem-solving skills
- Experience working across both business and technical teams
- Exposure to BPMN, Agile and/or PRINCE2 delivery environments will be highly regarded
- Previous government experience will be highly regarded
- Initial 12-month assignment
- Potential long-term extension
- $80-$85 per hour + Superannuation
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday
- Weekly pay cycles
