This is an exciting opportunity to join a well-respected state government client as a Principal Project Officer (AO6). In this role, you’ll play a vital part in the SAP S/4HANA implementation and hyper care phase.
Your New Role
As the Principal Project Officer, you will play a pivotal role in preparing the department for the SAP S/4HANA transition. You’ll coordinate business readiness activities, support future-state process design, engage stakeholders, and assist with core project activities such as data migration, training and UAT.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys structured project work, clear deliverables, and working closely with finance, ICT and operational stakeholders.

As the Senior Project Officer, you'll support the agency's implementation and hyper-care phase of the SAP S/4 HANA upgrade.
- Coordinate readiness activities with business areas and maintain oversight of actions, risks and dependencies.
- Support the Project Manager through preparation of briefings, updates and governance reporting.
- Review Signavio process maps and work with stakeholders to identify required operational changes for future-state processes.
- Develop high-quality documentation, including process flows, requirements specifications and briefing materials.
- Maintain accurate project artefacts, registers and change-related materials.
- Lead internal engagement activities such as workshops, consultations and communications.
- Liaise with business units to understand impacts, gather updates and align responsibilities.
- Assist with training planning, identifying training needs, and preparing supporting materials.
- Support UAT scheduling, test script coordination, and defect tracking.
- Work with the Data Migration Lead to coordinate cleansing, mapping and validation tasks with data stewards.
- Experience in a Project Officer, Project Coordinator or similar role
- Previous experience supporting large system implementations or transformations
- Strong organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite as well as project or document management platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage competing priorities effectively.
- Finance experience is beneficial.
- Experience with SAP S/4HANA is highly advantageous.
