Our state government client is seeking an experienced Commercial Reporting Analyst to strengthen its commercial reporting and financial analysis capability. This role sits within a central finance function and plays a key part in improving how commercial performance is measured, understood, and acted on.

As the Commercial Reporting Analyst, you’ll lead the development of consistent commercial reporting methodologies and provide high-quality analysis across contracts, projects, and business initiatives. Your work will directly support executive decision-making and future commercial strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement consistent commercial reporting frameworks.
- Analyse revenue, costs, margins, and profitability across contracts and projects.
- Provide reporting that supports executive and board-level decision-making.
- Identify profitable and loss-making activities to inform future strategy.
- Deliver specialist advice on commercial financial reporting and analysis.
- Support financial modelling for business cases, tenders, and funding initiatives.
- Partner with stakeholders to improve financial insight and commercial outcomes.
- Transfer knowledge and uplift internal capability to ensure sustainability.
- Drive continuous improvement across reporting and analysis practices.
- Demonstrated experience in financial modelling, analysis, and reporting.
- Proven ability to design and implement commercial reporting frameworks.
- Strong understanding of accounting standards in a commercial environment.
- High-level analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple levels.
- Confidence working in a fast-paced, change-focused environment.
- Tertiary qualifications in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- CPA or CA qualification (or working towards).
- Experience with developing robust Power BI dashboards and advanced Excel skills.
