This state government department is preparing to transition from SAP ECC6 to SAP S/4HANA as part of the QSS Finance IT Modernisation Program. While QSS leads the technical build, the department is focused on business readiness and data quality for go live. This role ensures agency data is accurate, complete and ready for trial conversions and cutover.
As the Data Migration Lead, you will coordinate all agency-side data migration activities, including cleansing, construct preparation, validation and reconciliation.
Key Contributions
- Lead agency data cleansing across all in-scope data objects and track progress.
- Prepare and manage construct files, including cost centres, profit centres and other core master data.
- Coordinate pre-load and post-load validation, business reconciliation and defect resolution during trial conversions.
- Maintain object dependencies such as links between WBS, cost centres and related structures.
- Attend QSS data migration workshops, weekly working groups and ensure accurate communication within the agency.
- Track and report migration progress to the Project Manager and support the CFO data owner's sign-off.
- Guide SMEs on data extraction, fit-to-standard constraints and data quality expectations.
- Validate whether data correctly maps to S/4HANA fields and identify any dependencies that may not translate cleanly.
- Oversee data integrity for assets, inventory and revenue-related master data.
- Manage pre-load and post-load checks and test for issues or gremlins before and after migration.
- Strong attention to detail with demonstrated experience in data quality, validation or finance systems readiness.
- Ability to identify data dependencies, quality risks and issues early.
- Ability to work self-sufficiently with a high level of ownership over deliverables.
- SAP 4/HANA experience and knowledge of Queensland Government financial processes (desirable).
