Our Queensland State Government client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join a centralised finance team that works closely with a range of state government stakeholders.
This is a high-impact contract opportunity where you’ll play a hands-on role in delivering critical financial reporting and compliance outcomes across multiple portfolios, while building meaningful relationships in a well-connected environment.

- Prepare financial statements and reports
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliations and assist in asset accounting
- Support the accounting for long service leave and annual leave liabilities
- Provide financial support and clear communication to client stakeholders
- Contribute to central accounting activities alongside team members
- Work to tight deadlines with an emphasis on practical, timely outcomes
- Manage GST, BAS, FBT, and payroll tax compliance (training can be required if you have less experience in tax)
- Essential: Extensive hands-on experience using Tridata
- Ability to communicate clearly with those who may have limited financial knowledge
- Strong experience in financial statement preparation
- Strong Excel skills required
- Calm, collaborative, and deadline-driven working style
- Ability to guide and support more junior staff
