About the Opportunity

A respected government client is seeking a Senior Finance Advisor - Asset Accounting to support the accuracy, compliance, and integrity of its extensive asset portfolio. You’ll be part of a high-performing finance team that plays a crucial role in major public infrastructure outcomes.
  
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex accounting challenges, has a sharp eye for detail, and wants to influence robust financial reporting and asset management across a complex organisation.

Your Contributions

As the Senior Finance Advisor – Asset Accounting, you’ll:
  • Deliver accurate, compliant asset accounting across the organisation.
  • Prepare financial statement components for asset reporting.
  • Coordinate valuation and indexation cycles and finalise valuation accounting.
  • Maintain quality assurance over operational and non-infrastructure asset records.
  • Identify and drive business improvement opportunities and digital uplift.
  • Provide expert advice to stakeholders on asset accounting requirements.
  • Support asset-related improvement projects, including land and building initiatives.
  • Build effective working relationships with internal teams and external agencies.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Experience in asset accounting within the public sector or a similar environment.
  • Strong understanding of Australian Accounting Standards and Non-Current Asset Policies.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement skills with valuers, internal clients, and external agencies.
  • Degree in accounting, commerce, or business (highly regarded)
  • Professional accounting membership (highly regarded)
