Our government client is seeking a Senior Finance Officer to help update and improve their Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM). This role will strengthen financial governance and ensure alignment with Queensland Government requirements. You’ll join a small, growing finance team where your work will directly shape financial practices and support audit readiness.

As the Senior Finance Officer, you will:
- Deliver targeted updates to the Financial Management Practice Manual (FMPM) and financial delegations.
- Incorporate recent audit recommendations and align the framework with Queensland Government legislative and policy requirements.
- Working within a small but growing finance team to refine practical financial governance that supports compliance and improves decision-making.
- Liase with internal stakeholders, including executive staff, leaders, admin officers, and project staff.
- Ensure the FMPM is practical and in line with the agency’s activities
- Embed best-practice controls and data-informed decision standards.
- Experience in Queensland Government financial management (essential)
- Understanding of QLD Government financial legislation and Treasury guidelines.
- Experience navigating QLD Government finance policies, governance requirements, and reporting rules.
- Excellent written communication and stakeholder engagement skills
