We are currently seeking an organised and proactive Accounts Payable Officer to support a busy government finance team based in Brisbane City. This temporary opportunity offers the chance to contribute to the efficient delivery of financial services within a large and fast-paced public sector environment.
Working as part of a collaborative Accounts Payable team, you will be responsible for processing a high volume of invoices, performing account reconciliations, and managing payment queries, ensuring all transactions are accurate and compliant with relevant policies and procedures.
This position would suit an experienced Accounts Payable professional who thrives in a structured, high-volume environment and takes pride in delivering accurate and timely outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Process high volumes of invoices and payments with a high level of accuracy
- Match purchase orders and investigate discrepancies promptly
- Respond to supplier and internal stakeholder queries in a professional and timely manner
- Reconcile accounts and manage outstanding items
- Ensure compliance with financial and procurement policies and procedures
To succeed in this role, you will have:
- Demonstrated experience in Accounts Payable roles, within a high-volume, fast-paced work environment
- Experience with large accounting systems such as SAP, TechnologyOne or Ellipse
- Advanced attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
