About the Opportunity
Kingston Human Capital are working with a state government client who is seeking an experienced Project Officer to join their busy PMO.

Your new role
The purpose of the Project Officer is to support the PMO leadership and provide project support to the team on various project initiatives and tasks.

Responsibilities may include:
  • Provide project support services with a strong emphasis on governance compliance, process integrity, and administrative assurance.
  • Administer project and program financial activities, including monitoring and processing expenditure, invoices, and accounts receivable, while ensuring compliance with departmental financial policies, delegations, and reporting deadlines.
  • Prepare and contribute to a variety of project documentation, adhering to departmental standards, record-keeping requirements, and document control processes.
  • Coordinate meetings, workshops, and governance forums by managing logistics, preparing agendas and papers, recording minutes and actions, maintaining registers, and distributing documentation promptly and accurately to support informed decision-making and accountability.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
  • Proven experience in Project Officer, Project Coordinator or similar roles
  • Demonstrated ability to assist with project financials, including invoices, expenditure tracking, and adherence to financial policies and deadlines.
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Experience providing secretariat support, including coordinating meetings, preparing agendas, and taking accurate minutes.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities, triage requests, and respond to urgent matters in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to liaise effectively across teams and seniority levels.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and project management software (MS Project, SharePoint, Jira etc)
Previous experience in a similar role within the government or public sector would be highly regarded.
