We are working with a state government client who is seeking an experienced Senior Advisor with strong Stakeholder Engagement skills.
Your new role
This role plays a critical role in ensuring effective engagement and collaboration across diverse stakeholders.
This position is responsible for managing and coordinating bi-monthly (at a minimum) meetings, working closely with the Chair, project team, and multiple contractors to deliver well-structured agendas, presentations, and meeting outcomes. The role ensures that all discussions and decisions are accurately captured and communicated, providing clear and comprehensive reporting and timely information back to relevant teams. By fostering strong relationships and maintaining transparent communication, the Stakeholder Lead supports the delivery of inclusive, accessible outcomes for the project and contributes to broader stakeholder engagement objectives.
- Provide strategic oversight and coordinate approvals for Terms of Reference and associated governance documents, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives and endorsement by members and the project team.
- Lead engagement with key member organisations and key stakeholders to maintain broad industry representation; oversee processes for member appointments and replacements.
- Oversee management of the email inbox, ensuring timely and professional responses through appropriate delegation.
- Prepare and endorse high-level internal progress reports, identify emerging risks/issues, and provide strategic input into project planning and scheduling.
- Provide leadership in planning and delivering bi-monthly meetings, ensuring accessibility and readiness of venues and materials.
- Guide the development of agendas and presentations in collaboration with the Chair, project team and contractors; reviewing and approving content and ensure timely distribution to key members.
- Oversee internal approval processes for meeting materials, ensuring compliance with governance standards.
- Ensure dissemination of agendas, presentations, and minutes in appropriate formats and monitor quality of outputs.
- Overseeing management of community and stakeholder correspondence to ensure consistency and professionalism.
- Representing the project at stakeholder information sessions and events, acting as a senior point of contact.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Experience working on major transport infrastructure projects.
- Experience working or engaging with accessibility sector or managing engagement with Accessibility Reference/working groups.
- Proven leadership and stakeholder engagement experience.
- High-level strategic and governance capability – Skilled in overseeing governance frameworks, approvals processes, and ensuring compliance with organisational standards.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills – Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly, negotiate effectively, and represent the project in high-profile forums.
- Strong project coordination and planning expertise – Ability to manage competing priorities, oversee meeting schedules, and ensure timely delivery of agendas, reports, and presentations.
- Advanced problem-solving and risk management skills – Capacity to identify emerging issues, develop mitigation strategies, and provide informed advice to senior leadership.
