  • Competitive AO8 equivalent hourly or temporary salary option:
    • $97.66 – $103.19 per hour + Super OR
    • $5,832 – $6,167 per fortnight + Super + Leave Loading
About the Opportunity
This role has been created to support Financial Control Services during a high-volume EOFY period. The focus is on reviewing capital work in progress, validating transactions and ensuring compliant, timely capitalisation and reporting.

You will take ownership of reviewing CWIP and capital transactions, determining asset versus expense classifications and preparing clear recommendations for senior leadership. This is a hands-on technical role requiring strong asset accounting capability and the confidence to work independently.
  
Key Contributions
  • Review and assess capital work in progress and related transactions
  • Determine asset versus expense treatment in line with accounting standards and relevant policies
  • Provide expert technical advice on capital expenditure commissioning
  • Consult with key stakeholders to ensure timely reconciliation and capitalisation
  • Prepare reporting and briefs to support Executive decision-making
  • Contribute to reducing backlog and ensuring audit-ready outcomes
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Extensive Financial Accounting experience with strong Asset Accounting expertise
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in asset or infrastructure accounting
  • Experience supporting complex capital or infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and public sector asset policies
  • Ability to independently assess and recommend capital treatment
  • Experience preparing reports for senior finance leadership
  • CA or CPA highly regarded
