About your new role
You will be joining one of Queensland’s largest State Government departments, and be responsible for WebSphere, WebLogic and Tomcat Application Server Administration and Linux Middleware Administration, providing operational and project support for critical production and non-production systems.

Day to day responsibilities:
  • Installation, upgrading, and control of systems for IT services and products including J2EE application servers, such as WebSphere Application Server, WebLogic Application Server and Linux operating systems, such as Suse Linux, Red Hat.
  • Support the release and deployment of new Java EE applications over the software development lifecycle and through support for the Developer, Testing and Production environments.
  • Ensure that the systems are managed to agreed levels of service and data integrity.
  • Ensure that system performance is monitored and reviewed
  • Provide technical expertise to enable the correct application of operational procedures.
  • Provide appropriate information to specialists, users and managers
What you will need to succeed
  • Demonstrated experience administering Java EE / J2EE application servers, such as IBM WebSphere, Oracle WebLogic, and Apache Tomcat.
  • Strong experience with Linux system administration, particularly Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) and/or SUSE Linux.
  • Experience supporting enterprise middleware environments across development, testing, and production environments.
  • Proven ability to install, configure, upgrade, and maintain application servers and middleware platforms.
  • Strong troubleshooting and performance monitoring skills in complex production environments.
  • Knowledge of system performance monitoring, tuning, and incident management.
  • Ability to follow and implement operational procedures, service management processes, and documentation standards.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills with technical teams, users, and management.
Please note: This is not a Java application developer role; however, an understanding of Java application development would be an added advantage.
  
Current and varied experience across both public and private sector is highly desirable.
  
What the role offers
  • 12-month initial assignment, with potential extension
  • Brisbane Northern Suburbs (Carseldine)
  • On site parking available
  • 8hrs Day / 40hrs Week, Monday to Friday
  • Weekly pay cycles with no payroll fees
