As the Principal Business Analyst, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Major Projects unit through the Department’s transition to SAP S/4HANA.
You will lead the detailed gathering, validation and documentation of business requirements, including process flows, use cases, data maps, gap analyses and end‑to‑end business solutions.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, subject matter experts and the systems project team to ensure the proposed SAP solution aligns with internal business processes, financial requirements and operational needs.
You will model and analyse business processes and financial operations data including budgets, forecasts, cost collection, billing, overheads and professional fees to identify required changes and opportunities for improvement in alignment with the SAP S/4HANA program.
A key focus of the role is maintaining data integrity and supporting effective data cleansing, migration and conversion activities to ensure the accuracy and continuity of financial and project management processes.
You will also lead the development, enhancement and alignment of Excel‑based project and operational reports to ensure reporting processes are ready for go‑live and fully compatible with the new SAP S/4HANA data structures and workflows.
Acting as a strong advocate for business users, you will contribute to change management, testing, training and transition activities to ensure a smooth go‑live and sustainable long‑term outcomes.
You will also maintain and update business process documentation and user guidance to reflect new or updated workflows resulting from the system implementation.
To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate:
- Previous experience as a Business Analyst, ideally at Senior / Lead / Principal level
- Experience with enterprise accounting and financial management systems, ideally SAP and S/4 HANA
- Advanced MS Excel skills such as development, enhancement and deployment of reporting tools
- Demonstrated experience in data analysis and data management, including data cleansing, migration, testing and issue resolution
- Strong organisational and time‑management skills
- Proven capability in identifying, assessing and managing risks in complex business and project environments
- Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build productive working relationships and present information clearly to a range of audiences.
- Ability to provide expert advice, guidance and training to support staff in adopting new systems and transitioning business processes
- 12-month assignment, with potential 6-month extension
- $97.66 - $103.19 per Hour + Superannuation (PAYG)
- Full time hours, Monday to Friday
- Brisbane CBD (Albert Street) with hybrid work arrangement
- Close to public transport options
- Commencing start of May 2026
