Our client, a Queensland State Government organisation, is seeking an experienced Senior Advisor (AO6) to support respectful, culturally safe engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses across Queensland.
This identified role is focused on strengthening genuine partnerships and supporting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses to participate in sustainable and mutually beneficial supply opportunities.
About the Role
This is not a procurement delivery position. Instead, you will work alongside procurement and business teams to build strong engagement approaches, improve inclusion pathways, and support Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supplier participation across a decentralised organisation.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Design and support the implementation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander supplier engagement approaches
- Build trusted, ongoing relationships with businesses, communities and key stakeholders
- Help create clearer, culturally safe pathways for participation and opportunity
- Facilitate networking and collaboration across metropolitan, regional and remote Queensland
- Partner internally to promote practical, accountable and respectful engagement outcomes
You will bring:
- Experience working alongside Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander businesses and/or communities
- A background in supplier inclusion, partnership development or advisory work
- Strong cultural capability with a relationship-first, respectful approach
- Confidence navigating public sector procurement environments
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills across complex organisations
- 12-month contract
- Flexible location across Queensland
- Travel approximately one week per month
- Hybrid arrangement following onboarding (3 days office / 2 days WFH)
