About your new role
The Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) is a Queensland Treasury agency responsible for collecting state taxes, royalties, and fines, as well as administering homeowner grants.
  
QRO manage payroll tax, transfer (stamp) duty, land tax, and vehicle registration duty, while enforcing unpaid penalties via the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) to fund public services.
  
You will be supporting cross-agency implementation activities relating to the Police Drug Diversion Program - through the implementation of supporting processes and systems - to carry out administrative responsibilities to manage Penalty Infringement Notices under the Queensland Government’s recently announced Illicit Drug Enforcement and Diversion Framework.
  
Additionally, other projects may arise in fines and debt administration, to meet government priorities in coming months.
  
Key responsibilities:
  • Develop detailed project management plans, change management plans, communications plans, quality plans, detailed project schedules, and resource schedules, inclusive of budget for above mentioned initiatives.
  • Ensure delivery within agreed scope, timeframes, and quality standards.
  • Establish governance and reporting mechanisms, including strategic and delivery boards and working groups.
  • Schedule, review, monitor and evaluate project progress and report to key stakeholders including project governance bodies, and the Program Manager, and contribute to reporting to any broader oversight of assurance bodies.
  • Ensure project risks and issues are promptly identified and effectively managed and that project stakeholders are informed and engaged in project development and implementation activities.
  • Provide leadership and management of project delivery, within established project management frameworks, methodologies, and policies, to ensure successful project outcomes.
  • Engage with executives, business SMEs, and technical teams to ensure alignment and buy-in.
  • Facilitate workshops for data governance and process documentation activities.
  • Manage vendors, consultants, and internal delivery resources.
  • Develop communication plans and support change management activities.
  • Ensure knowledge transfer to business and IT stakeholders.
What you will need to succeed
  • 5–10 years’ experience managing IT/business transformation projects
  • Strong project management expertise (PRINCE2, PMBOK, or Agile/Hybrid delivery)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, facilitation, and communication skills.
  • Experience in substantial cross-agency collaboration and engagement (ideal)
  • Experience in business process documentation, analysis, and requirements gathering
  • Strong risk, issue, and dependency management expertise
  • High emotional intelligence with the ability to influence and manage resistance
  • Comfortable working in complex, ambiguous environments
  • Adaptable, pragmatic, and delivery focused
Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2 Practitioner, Agile (Scrum Master), or TOGAF would be desirable. Previous experience in a similar role within the Queensland Government or Public Sector would be highly regarded.
   
What the role offers
  • Immediate start
  • Initial 9-month assignment, with potential extension
  • $100 - 120 per Hour + Superannuation (PAYG only)
  • 8hrs Day / 40hrs Week Monday to Friday
  • Brisbane CBD office
  • Weekly pay cycles with no payroll fees
Please note: For the first 3 months of the contract, you will be required on-site full time at our client’s office (Brisbane CBD). After that time, you may transition to 3 days office/2 days remote for the duration of the assignment.
