About your new role
The Queensland Revenue Office (QRO) is a Queensland Treasury agency responsible for collecting state taxes, royalties, and fines, as well as administering homeowner grants.
  
QRO manage payroll tax, transfer (stamp) duty, land tax, and vehicle registration duty, while enforcing unpaid penalties via the State Penalties Enforcement Registry (SPER) to fund public services.

This role will see you working with a team of analysts and developers to design key elements and flows for Fines and SPER applications.

This will contribute immediately to a critical application redevelopment project and will form the standard for future application design.
   
Day to day you will:
  • Create a reusable, self-documenting library of standardised application components, incorporating branding requirements
  • Design UX process flows for a current application redevelopment project
  • Ensure alignment to appropriate standards in system designs
  • Train up and hand over to existing staff and document to an acceptable standard.
Deliverables:
  • Review existing designs/styles and provide feedback for improvement
  • New/updated designs for missing or inconsistent components
  • Generic layout components, incorporating desktop, tablet and mobile usage
  • UX flows for complex business process flows
  • Complete UI component Design System
What you will need to succeed
  • 3+ years’ experience working in UI/UX design which includes:
  • Establishing standard designs for application components
  • Designing UX process flows for a range of online applications
  • Identifying and designing graphics, icons, etc
Experience with Figma would be highly regarded, as would experience with WCAG guidelines for accessibility.
   
What the role offers
  • 6-month initial assignment, with potential extension
  • Hourly rate circa $80 - $95 + Super (depending on experience)
  • Brisbane CBD location
  • 8hrs Day / 40hrs Week Monday to Friday
  • Weekly pay cycles with no payroll fees
Please note: For the first 3 months of the contract, you will be required on-site full time at our client’s office (Brisbane CBD). After that time, you may transition to 3 days office/2 days remote for the duration of the assignment.
